GoPro Hero 5 specs could have been spilled by a Japanese website called Nokishita camera which posted an article regarding the action camera's features and specifications.

Unfortunately, the Hero 5 post has been removed by the said site. The reason for the removal is unknown but it could be that GoPro asked to take the post down to avoid further leakage about the Hero 5 specs and features.

Nevertheless, the specs have been already seen by several publications and the takedown of the post only reinforces the speculations that it was indeed true. The GoPro Hero 5 could hold a new USB Type-C port plus an HDMI output connector as well, Valuewalk has learned.

Other GoPro Hero 5 specs include its weight which is 90 grams without the battery and 118 grams with the battery. The dimensions in the Japanese website post state that it will be 44.6mm tall, 62mm wide and 32.7mm thick from the viewfinder up to the rear end of the camera.

GoPro Hero 5 will allegedly have a touchscreen LCD display and support external storage through a microSD card up to 64 GB, Ubergizmo reported. In terms of the features, the camera will be able to shoot stunning 4K but only at 30 frames per second.

The camera will also be able to shoot 2.7K at 60 frames per second and 1140p at 80 frames per second for those super slow motion shots when the user is shooting high action scenes such as surfing or snowboarding. Full HD videos at 1080p can even be recorded at 120 frames per second for shots that require the smoothest of slow motion scenes.

Some reports claim that the GoPro Hero 5 can actually record in 3D but there has been no evidence to support the claims. If that would be indeed true, the price of the camera could be jacked up as 3D cameras often cost more than the usual.

GoPro Hero 5 is also expected to pack 1220mAh for the camera's battery which can last for several hours of recording. The release date is still unknown but it is expected to be released this year.
