For “The Way We Were” singer Barbra Streisand, the only way to pronounce her surname is the “Streisand” and not “Streizand” as what iPhone personal assistant Siri has been doing.

She shared the change during an interview with Scott Simon of NPR who asked the iPhone personal assistant, “Siri, who’s the only female vocalist who’s had hit records for six straight decades?”

Using her clout, Streisand called Apple CEO Tim Cook and asked him to correct Siri. “She pronounces my name wrong … Streisand with a soft S, like sand on the beach. I’ve been saying this for my whole career,” New York Daily News quoted the singer.

Beginning Sept. 30, the next Apple update, Siri would finally change the pronunciation of her name, Streisand said. It is also the same date that Apple would release its iOS 10.

Streisand is promoting her new album, “Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway.” It was during the tour that she shared the story of Siri’s gaffe corrected with a single call to Cook. Noting Cook’s swift response to Streisand’s request, Digital Trends suggested that anyone whose name, home town, country or family pet name has been mispronounced by Siri should give Tim Cook a call and request for a change since “he seems very receptive to such problems.”
