Opening day losing teams SD Eibar (0-1-0, 0 points) and Valencia CF (0-1-0, 0 points) will both try to redeem themselves from their previous lackluster performances when they meet each other in a 2016-2017 La Liga season Week 2 match set at the Estadio Municipal de Ipurua on Saturday, Aug. 27.

Eibar, who avoided relegation to the Segunda Division last term by only five points, was nipped by Deportivo La Coruna, 1-2, at the Estadio Municipal de Riazor last Friday to open their campaign this term on a low note, ESPN reported.

The first half of play between the two teams were goalless as both felt their way around and tried to establish ball control over the other.

Armagiñak actually scored the opening goal of the contest ten minutes after the restart with a header from defender Ivan Ramis from the left side of the box off an assist from Portuguese forward Bebe.

However, Deportivo was able to claw back into the game when midfielder Pedro Mosquera found the equalizer at the 67th minute from a brilliant cross by teammate Lucas Perez off a set piece situation.

The hosts eventually scored the winning goal at the 87th with a penalty kick from Perez after Eibar defender David Junca was booked a yellow.

Meanwhile, Valencia succumbed to a plethora of goals from Las Palmas in the first half-hour of their season-opening match to eventually lose, 2-4, at their own home field of Mestalla Stadium on Monday, as per Daily Mail Online.

Valencia forward Santi Mina pulled off a brace for new head coach Pako Ayestarán, but it was not enough to defeat the Canary Islands residents, who amassed four goals in the contest.

Los Amarillos streaked to a 3-1 lead with goals from Marko Livaja, Jonathan Viera, and Kevin-Prince Boateng in the first 31 minutes after Mina netted the opener at the sixth.

Mina cut the deficit to only one goal at halftime when he directed an assist by teammate Ruben Vezo towards the net of Las Palmas keeper Javi Varas following a corner kick at the 34th.

Livaja sealed the win for Las Palmas with two minutes left before full time to hand Valencia a disappointing opening game this season.

The predicted result is a 1-0 bounce back win for Valencia.

Eibar starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Riesgo; Capa, Galvez, Ramis, Junca; Rivera, Carillo; Bebe, Gonzalez, Inui; Kike

Valencia starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Ryan; Montoya, Vezo, Abdennour, Gaya; Perez, Parejo; Cancelo, Medran, Mina; Alcacer
