Several photos of an exploded Galaxy Note 7 have surfaced. Reports indicate that the phablet exploded white it was kept for charging.
A Korean woman has revealed on an online forum site that she had kept the Galaxy Note 7 for charging overnight. When she woke up in the morning, she found the phone severely damaged. Samsung has confirmed that it will find what exactly caused the explosion, Korean Herald reported.
If the incident is found to be true, it could negatively hamper the sales of Galaxy Note 7. Preliminary reports indicate that the fire could have been caused by the overheating of Li-Ion battery. The user has allegedly used a microUSB to Type-C converter for charging the device.
The Galaxy Note 7 is highly popular in South Korea. Its preorders have crossed 400,000 units and Samsung has apologized to the customers on the delay of shipping preordered units, The Investor reported. It has a huge battery of 3,500 mAh capacity. The battery supports fast charging and Qi wireless charging. The Galaxy S7 Edge that was released this year with a 5.5-inch dual-edge curved display features a larger battery of 3,600 mAh capacity.
