Ubisoft enters Virtual Reality phase; VR titles will rollout on holiday season

Ubisoft has recently penetrated the league of Virtual Reality (VR) game manufacturers after the company announced the details regarding the release dates for its upcoming VR  title, including "Eagle Flight," "Werewolves Within," and "Star Trek: Bridge Crew."

The said games will run in multi-platforms such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR and is slated for a holiday release, with "Eagle Flight" taking its first appearance for Oculus Rift on Oct. 18 followed by a PlayStation VR release on Nov. 8. However, the HTC Vive version will be launched on late December.

According to a GameSpot review, "Eagle Flight," created by the FunHouse Division of Ubisoft Montreal, takes on a journey of an eagle, being the first-person player, flying over the Paris skylines across iconic landmarks after humans have left. There is a single-player mode, and a hint of multiplayer in the "Capture the Prey" mode.

More so, "Star Trek: Bridge Crew," a licensed title manufactured by Ubisoft's Red Storm Entertainment, will hit all three major VR platforms on Nov. 29. This game lets player become a member of the Federation onboard a Starfleet ship. It also grants players a possibility to serve as the captain or a member of the crew.

Ubisoft's final title, the medieval-themed "Werewolves Within," will be launched on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR on Dec. 6. Also developed by Red Storm Entertainment, IGN deemed this challenging game to be "a whodunnit of sorts that's played in teams of between five and eight where you must figure out which player among you is the werewolf picking off the townspeople." "All rounds are completely distinct from each other and players can take on the role of a villager or a werewolf," reads a line from its description

Additionally, arcade racing game "TrackMania Turbo" is bound to acquire a free patch as PlayStation VR version on Nov. 8 that introduces virtual reality support.

Oculus Rift and HTC Vive are already available, while Sony's PlayStation VR is slated to come out in October.
