Netflix's hit series "Stranger Things" has joined the list of TV shows that managed to capture the attention of many viewers given its compelling storyline. Although the series has yet to receive the green light for a Season 2 run, its writers have already shared a few plot details and potential character developments.

The first season of the Netflix series "Stranger Things" has given viewers a look at the intense and mysterious events surrounding the town of Hawkins. The show has managed to mix several genres together such as science fiction, horror and even a little bit of the supernatural. One of the show's writers, Matt Duffer, has teased in an interview with IGN that Season 2 will be darker than the first one.

He hinted that they plan to introduce weirder plots and events in the potential new season. He even made mention of utilizing more visual effects to heighten the suspense and horror level in Season 2. Matt also commented that he and co-writer/brother Ross plan to use a one-year time jump in "Stranger Things" Season 2.

Matt added that should the series be picked up for a new season, the story will take place in the year 1984. Viewers will then see how beloved characters have moved on with their lives a year after the Season 1 events.

The Duffer brothers also mentioned the characters Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) during the said interview. Avid fans may recall how Dyer and Heaton's characters both shared a connection in Season 1. However, Nancy ended up with Joe Keery's Steve. Matt teased that Season 2 may see a rekindling of Nancy and Jonathan's budding romance.

The two characters' romance has also been one of the Season 2 plot speculations posted on The Wrap. The said report highlighted the strong bond between Nancy and Jonathan. It appears that some fans have been hoping to see Nancy end up with Heaton's character instead of Steve.

At this time, it is still unsure if the Netflix series will be given a Season 2 run. Avid fans of "Stranger Things" would have to wait for further news to learn more.
