The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has arrived to succeed Redmi Note 3. Here is a comparison between the two to find out which one is a better smartphone:

Design, Display and Chipset

Both the smartphones have full metallic chassis. However, the Redmi Note 4 has chamfered edges and 2.5D curved glass that is not available on Redmi Note 3. Both the smartphones have 5.5-inch full HD screen that supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels along with a pixel density of 403 ppi.

The Helio X20 chipset by MediaTek that features a deca-core processor powers the Redmi Note 4, MIUI stated. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC that includes a hexa-core processor fuels the Redmi Note 3.

Xiaomi had released the Helio X10 edition of Redmi Note 3 in China before releasing the Snapdragon version. Hence, a Snapdragon variant of the Redmi Note 4 may release soon for other markets.

Storage and RAM                       

The 16 GB variant of Redmi Note 4 and Redmi Note 3 feature 2 GB of RAM. The Redmi Note 4 is not available in 32 GB version, but its 64 GB variant houses 3 GB of RAM. The Redmi Note 3 comes in another storage variant of 32 GB that features 3 GB of RAM.

Both the smartphones support dual-SIM connectivity through hybrid SIM slots. The second SIM card slot on both the devices also support microSD card of up to 128 GB.

Camera and Software

The Redmi Note 4 has a 13-megapixel whereas its predecessor has a 16-mepixel camera. Both the rear cameras carry features like PDAF and dual-LED flash. The Helio X10 variant of Redmi Note 3 features 13-megapxiel rear shooter. Both the smartphones have 5-megapixel selfie cameras.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS that is modified with MIUI 8.0. The Redmi Note 3 has Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS that is flavored with MIUI 7.

Battery and Price

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has a 4,100 mAh capacity battery and its predecessor houses a slightly smaller battery of 4,050 mAh capacity.
