"Arrow" season 5 will feature more scenes with Willa Holland's character Thea Queen.
According to executive producer Marc Guggenheim, Thea will be in such a good place in the upcoming episodes.
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the exec also confirmed that Thea will act as Oliver's chief of staff now that the latter has become the Mayor of Star City.
"Perhaps, to her own surprise, she's actually really, really good at it. All the skills that she learned by watching her mother for all those years, as well as running Verdant, she's found very transferrable to City Hall, and in many ways, she's a much better chief of staff than Oliver is a mayor," he said.
Meanwhile, the upcoming episodes of "Arrow" season 5 will be directly affected by the Flashpoint storyline that will be introduced in "The Flash" season 3.
In an interview with IGN, executive producer Wendy Mericle said, "Flashpoint provides an interesting jumping off point for all the shows this year, in that we have this reset button available to us if we want it. We've landed on a few things, but the door is open. That's the fun part. You can play with it in whatever way, shape or form that you want to. I think it will be small in some ways, and big in others."
During a separate interview with Comic Book Resources, Mericle said that Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is one of the characters that will be impacted greatly by the Flashpoint storyline.
"There will be some characters that are more influenced and impacted by it, mainly Felicity. She's going to be carrying something in regard to that this season," she said.
According to IBTimes, Felicity will have multiple scenes with Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) in the crossover episodes. However, it is still unclear how she will influence Barry in the lead character's decisions.
However, the Flashpoint storyline won't immediately be part of "Arrow" season five's premiere episode. Instead, it will be introduced in the series at a much later time compared to "The Flash." In the latter, the Flashpoint storyline will be part of the season 3 premiere.
"Arrow" season 5 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. ET.
