'Pokemon Sun and Moon' is an upcoming Nintendo 3DS game that will be released on Nov. 18.

Before the official release of "Pokémon Sun and Moon" three months from now, fans of the media franchise managed by The Pokémon Company are given a taste of some first-generation Pokémon being re-introduce as monsters inhabiting the Alola region; however, some of them may appear different from their usual forms.

As shown in the Pokémon official website, some of the regular Pokémon were transformed into their Alolan forms that are quite different from their regular counterparts. On the previous Pokémon franchises, the normal Sandshrew is a ground-type Pokémon; however, the Alolan version is an ice/steel-type, while its spikes appear like ice glaciers. The fire-type Vulpix is also an ice-type in Alola.

Other regular Pokémon that have different Alolan forms include Exeggutor (grass/dragon), Ninetales (ice/fairy), Sandslash (ice/steel), Meowth (dark), Marowak (fire/ghost), and Raichu (electric/psychic).

Aside from the previously mentioned monsters, other Pokémon including Pinsir, Spearow, Gyarados, Zubat, and Dragonite are highlighted on the Japanese website of "Pokémon Sun and Moon." Although the five characters are part of both Sun and Moon, some of them may not have their Alolan forms in one of the two titles.

Apparently, as confirmed lately on the Japanese website of "Pokémon Sun and Moon," Lapras, Arcanine and Psyduck will also be joining the roster of Pokédex in the Alola Region in their original forms.

Though the eight original Pokémon, Pinsir, Spearow, Gyarados, Zubat, Dragonite, Arcanine, Lapras and Psyduck, are already joining the action in the Alola Region, they have yet to be officially added to the U.S. "Pokémon Sun and Moon" website. Whether or not these eight Pokémon will be part of the original lineup remains to be a mystery for the fans.

Meanwhile, the upcoming "Pokemon Sun and Moon" game is set in the island of Alola. According to the game's official site, Alola island has a "diverse ecology made up of Pokémon that have lived as natives of the Alola region for generations, along with Pokémon that have more recently arrived in Alola from other regions."           "In Alola, humans and Pokémon coexist in a very close relationship, and a culture has developed that is different from other regions."

"Pokémon Sun and Moon" is slated for release on Nov. 18 worldwide, with the exception of Europe, where the game will roll out on Nov. 23. "Pokémon Sun and Moon" is only available on Nintendo 3DS console.
