"The Leftovers" Season 3 has already started filming in Australia to pursue Garvey's search.

In the recent interview by The Music with series creator Damon Lindelof and the show's protagonist Theroux, few things were revealed about the upcoming "The Leftovers" Season 3.

Among the first things that are revealed is the confirmation that the series will now be set in Australia. Accordingly, after having "The Leftovers" Season One in New York and "The Leftovers" Season 2 in Texas, the change in location is no surprise to many viewers. Nevertheless, producers just had their smiles and remained tight-lipped as to the importance of the series being set in Australia with Season 3 and the last eight episodes of the previous season, even if its creator already hinted that Garvey's journey will culminate in Australia.

Meanwhile, rumors have it that the chosen location for "The Leftovers" Season 3 was in reference with the previous season, where Kevin Garvey was seen to be wandering around Australia in search for possible reason behind the decrease in population in said country.

On another note, Lindelof revealed that the different locations of "The Leftovers," particularly Australia, give him overwhelming inspiration to explore extensive ideas and better visualizations.

In other news, Deadline also named few of the new and original cast members who will be joining "The Leftovers" Season 3. Topping the list of the newest addition is Katja Herbers from "Manhattan," although the specification of her role has not yet been revealed. Furthermore, some of the original casts include Carrie Coon Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Margaret Qualley, Chris Zylka, and Janel Moloney, and the Murphy family.

Although HBO President Casey Bloys already said that the release of the show will be delayed until summer of 2017 without exact date of release yet, it has also been confirmed by Lindelof that this will be the last season of the mystery-thriller series, despite high ratings it garnered during its previous season.
