Niantic is rumored to be working on a new update that is expected to rolled out in the first week of September. Early rumors indicate that it may be a major that will bring couple of new features and improvements.
Since the launch of Pokemon GO on July 6, Niantic has rolled out five updates. The update that was released on July 13 resolved login problems and crashing. Niantic had followed it up with a minor update on July 20.
Since the inbuilt feature for tracking Pokemon, Nearby, was not functioning properly, it was axed through the July 30 that brought along Pokemon avatar customization support. The Sightings feature as well as support for changing nicknames were added through the Aug. 8 update. It also came with a fix for battery saver mode issue.
An update was released on Aug.23 to add the Pokemon Appraisal feature. Since Niantic is following a trend of rolling out updates bi-weekly, rumors are indicating that a new update may possible arrive on Sept. 5, Heavy reported.
None of the aforementioned one can be considered as major. Some of the fans of Pokemon GO that have dug the game's code have found some of the upcoming features that are expected to be available on the game soon. Here are some of them:
