Right now, heart diseases are held accountable for millions of death worldwide.  Heart recently released the data that in the United States, it is considered as the number one cause of deaths among those who die from various illnesses.  Therefore, it is very important to improve your heart's health.  The simple tips below will significantly lower your risk of having a heart attack.

Be More Active Physically

There really is no need to be in a gym.  You just have to incorporate more physical activity in your daily routine.  An average of at least 30 to 30 minutes a day would do.  If you are working in the office and it requires you to sit more, then why don't you take the stairs instead of the elevator?  You could also use the remaining 5 or 10 minutes of your lunch break to have a quick walk.  The most ideal is having at least 2 hours and 30 minutes or 3 hours of physical activities per week.

Have a Mediterranean Diet

One write-up in Livestrong suggests having a Mediterranean diet not just for a better heart, but for you to have a healthier and longer life.  It is actually very easy to prepare a Mediterranean diet.  It consists of a lot of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish, low-fat dairy products and legumes.  The most common ingredients are olives, nuts, red wine and olive oil.  This has been equated to be as great as "not smoking".

Be More Involved Socially

It cannot be denied that a person's emotional health is linked to whether he or she will have better physical health.  Avoiding stress and anxiety by being more involved with social activities is great.  When your support network is stronger, you will be happier, and your immune system will have a boost - your heart will also be healthier.

Control Your Cholesterol

Again, this has something to do with the food intake.  You should be more aware of the food that you eat by limiting the bad cholesterol intake.  Fish and vegetables often have more of the good cholesterol.  If however, you cannot stop from consuming food with bad cholesterol, then just exercise more frequently to cleanse your body from it.
