UFC rumors: Conor McGregor spending big on suits, Canelo Alvarez issues challenge

Conor McGregor spends a fortune on suits, spending a bundle to look good on media tours.

Conor McGregor earns millions each time he performs and part of that goes to custom-made suits. He dons much of those when he appears on promotions, something that his tailors can attest to.

A testament to the crazy amount the Irishman spends comes no less from the ones tasked to come up with snazzy suits. According to one tailor, David August, McGregor easily drops $4,000 to $10,000 on suit orders which most can see when he appears in promotions, Fox Sports reported.

McGregor places emphasis on style meaning taking his measurements frequently is a must. Another tailor, David Heil, detailed how McGregor wants to wear suits high and tight, something that changes depending on his upcoming fights, TMZ reported.

Taken into perspective, the rough amount that McGregor spends on his suits could be close to $32,000 to $100,000 on the average. For the normal person, that seems like a ridiculous amount though everyone knows that is chump change for someone like McGregor.

In 2015 alone, McGregor amassed close to $22 million which provides most an idea of how much “The Notorious” racks in, Fox Sports reported. So far, he has amassed over $4 million from the two matches with Nate Diaz, figures that don’t even include endorsements.

With the year coming to a close, there is no official word yet if the Irishman will be fighting once more. A third fight with Nate Diaz is on the table though the fight can only take place if the catchweight is set at 155-lbs.

If not a rubber match with Diaz, McGregor could be defending his UFC featherweight title against Jose Aldo instead. Dana White stressed before that he must defend the belt or be stripped of it.

But the latest reports show that White has backpedaled on that and explained that McGregor will not be stripped of the featherweight title, Rolling Stone reported. Outside the Octagon, he could consider a fight for charity.

Everyone knows that celebrated rant against Floyd Mayweather Jr. which may never materialize. But a new boxer, Canelo Alvarez, has come out to challenge the Irishman. Such came up after McGregor took another swipe, criticizing Alvarez for ‘cherry-picking’ his opponents, CBS Sports reported.
