NBA 2K17 latest rumors: Kawhi Leonard game ratings leaked

| Sep 03, 2016 04:59 AM EDT

Kawhi Leonard's rating is now out and the San Antonio Spurs forward is expectedly among the top players for NBA 2K17.

Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs was among the high profile players whose NBA 2K17 ratings were released, expectedly among the top stars for the coming game.

San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard will expectedly get high ratings for NBA 2K17 and the actual numbers have been revealed through leaks. He finds himself among the third-best rated players so far behind LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers) and Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors).

Leonard finds himself in the company of former teammates Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook with 93 apiece, Operations Sports reported. James was given a 96 (the highest) and Curry (94).

For Leonard, the new rating is a big jump from NBA 2K16 where he got 87. In previous game installments, he had 85 and 82. He will be the top-ranked player for the Spurs this season followed by LaMarcus Aldridge (88) and Pau Gasol (84).

Other players who were already given high ratings include Anthony Davis (90) of the New Orleans Pelicans, Klay Thompson (90) and Draymond Green (90) of the Warriors and James Harden (90) of the Houston Rockets.

Prior to the recent leaks, other notable players who also got their ratings were sophomore Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves (88), rookie Ben Simmons (79) of the Philadelphia 76ers, D’Angelo Russell (79) of the Los Angeles Lakers and Joel Embiid (77).

While Leonard and the top player ratings are expected, the case of Russell and Embiid have come a bit of a surprise. For Russell, the bump could be reasonable seeing his rookie season topsy-turvy.

The Lakers guard did have his short moments of fame though he may have to do more as he enters his sophomore season. Even more mysterious is the case of Embiid.

The third overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft has yet to log a single minute in the league and yet he has gotten a good 77 rank. He has spent more time on the sidelines which beg to ask how the game developers came up with the numbers, Liberty Ballers reported.

There is word that Embiid could finally play this coming season. But all that will only happen midway as he continues to work his way back into playing shape.

Check out the video below detailing the latest ratings for NBA 2K17 which is expected to be out by Sept. 20 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
