Apple is expected to finally reveal the iPhone 7 specs and features on September 7 but it is not stopping analysts and leaks from guessing what it could offer customers when it releases.

One of the very first iPhone 7 speculations is that the standard 3.5mm headphone jack will be gone. Although some reports also claim that there is still one variant that will carry the much loved connector for audiophiles.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst for KGI Securities, has a good track record regarding iPhone predictions. Now, the analyst believes that the iPhone 7 will have a waterproof rating of IPX7 which is the same as the Apple Watch.

Samsung already made the Galaxy S7 waterproof to some extent and Apple could benefit well if the iPhone 7 is also resistant to water. Another report also claims that the iPhone 7 would be powered by a new Apple A10 system on chip with a maximum clock of 2.4GHz for the processor, CNET has learned.

Upgrades for under the hood specs are expected of every smartphone in the market. Apple is reportedly upgrading the chipset of the iPhone 7 with their new SoC which could bring more improvements in performance.

Another iPhone 7 rumor that everyone is excited about is the new 256GB storage option. The lowest iPhone 7 variant would carry 32 GB and the following model would carry 128GB instead of 64GB.

In lieu of the standard 3.5mm audio jack, Apple will be providing the Lightning headphone adaptor inside the box. The Cupertino-based tech company could also launch a new brand of earphones dubbed EarPods which will use the Lightning connector, Forbes reported.

Apple is also expected to install the 3D Touch 2.0 sensor for the iPhone 7. The first variant of the tech was found in the iPhone 6S and it has changed how the user interacts with the interface of the phone.

All of the iPhone 7 specs and features will finally be revealed on September 7 when Apple officially announces their new product possibly along with the new iPad Mini 5. Prices are expected to increase compared to the original iPhone 6 price bracket last year.
