Singer Miley Cyrus perform at the Wiltern Theatre on December 19, 2015 in Los Angeles, California.

Music fans around the world reportedly went into a frenzy when a horrific rumour surfaced online on Sept. 5, Monday, that pop star Miley Cyrus has been found dead in her bathtub. The fake story was even circulated on Facebook, with many of the hoaxes using reputed news sites' logo to make it look real and authentic.

The fake story claimed that the "Wrecking Ball" singer was found lifeless in a bathtub at her Hollywood home by her entourage. The reports stated that Los Angeles investigators were trying to determine the cause of death while officials refused to comment on reports that the famed singer drowned from a prescription pill overdose.

This is not the first time that 23-year-old singer is being subjected to false death rumors. She has not responded directly to the rumours yet, but seemingly made sure to remain active on social media to put an end to baseless stories.

Meanwhile, the singer was spotted alive and well in Malibu on Sept. 5, Monday. Clad in a tie-dyed off-shoulder skintight top with heart-shaped sunglasses while carrying a plastic see-through purse, the singer was accompanied by her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth for a dinner date, Daily Mail reported.

Cyrus was seen carrying a vintage jean jacket with several studs and colourful pins. On the contrast, Hemsworth opted for comfort in a basic white tee with khaki shorts and Vans slip-ons. The pair was joined by a small group of friends as one of the former Hannah Montana star's gal pals was dressed equally eccentrically in a bright yellow frock with pom pom earrings.

Reports of Cyrus and Hemsworth's romance swirled when the two were seen together in Australia over the holidays back in December 2015. While some tabloid reported that she is already married and even pregnant, the couple is seemingly in no rush to walk down the aisle.

Miley and Liam are still planning to get married," a source close to the singer told People. "They are still working out details though and don't have a date."

The singer released her most recent album "Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz" in 2015. The music was released independently while it is being speculated among her fans that she will soon drop new music this year.  Check out her last album below:
