Golden State Warriors latest rumors: Steph Curry expects slow start for the ‘Dubs’

Steph Curry cautions fans that the Golden State Warriors may start out slow with a new roster for the 2016-17 NBA season.

Steph Curry is aware that the Golden State Warriors are expected to dominate for the coming NBA season but admits that it may take some adjusting. They have a retooled roster and are coming off a disappointing Finals loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Currently, in China, Curry spoke to reporters and touched on how the Warriors will fare for the 2016-17 NBA season. After that disappointing 2016 NBA Finals loss, the only thing that the “Dubs” have in mind at this point is to win another title, Sporting News reported.

While the Warriors main five is still intact, Curry cautions that the Warriors will be undergoing a period of adjustment. A lot of this is likely tied up to the fact that the Warriors have added another big name in Kevin Durant, someone who has been drawing criticism for taking the ‘easy route’ to win an NBA title.

Even with the entry of Durant, Curry knows that everyone has to adjust to their new roles. Thus, the hot start that the Warriors had last season may not be replicated as Curry and the rest work through the transition.

Aside from the fact that Durant adds more pressure on the Warriors to deliver, it will also be a period of getting over the disappointing loss to LeBron James and company. Curry has apparently not gotten over that debacle though their chances for the coming season seem more than good.

Without question, the Warriors are one of the favorites to go all the way for the coming season. Aside from Durant, other new names include Zaza Pachulia (formerly of the Dallas Mavericks) and David West (from the San Antonio Spurs).

They lost a lot of key players from their championship run. That list includes Harrison Barnes, Andrew Bogut, Festus Ezeli, Brandon Rush, Leandro Barbosa and Mareese Speights, USA Today reported. The mix technically wiped out their bench support, hinting at adjustments ahead.

Steve Kerr will have a lot on his plate to get the old and new faces back on track with the Warriors looking to bounce back and start another NBA title hunt.
