'Tekken 7' PS4 release date hinted on February 2017; Bandai Namco showcase Akuma's story mode [VIDEO]

Tekken 7 is a fighting game developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment as the ninth instalment in the Tekken series.

The latest details for "Tekken 7" will feature Akuma's story mode gameplay and a possible February 2017 release date for the PlayStation 4.

Bandai Namco streamed a new gameplay demo for "Tekken 7" during the PAX 2016 event, as it features Akuma's story mode in the game series. As seen in the video, Akuma will confront Heihachi Mishima inside Mishima Dojo as the latter is meditating inside the shrine, contemplating on his fight with his wife, Kazumi to the death.

All of a sudden a mysterious figure shows up to dojo's doors as Akuma challenges Heihachi to a fight in order to fulfill the promise he had Kazumi. Akuma will utilize all of his moves from "Street Fighter" such as Gohadouken, Goshoryuken and Tatsumaki Senppukyaku, as well his critiacl arts such as Messatsu Gou Hadou and Shun Goku Satsu a.k.a the Raging Demon, SegmentNext reported.

Akuma is the first "Street Fighter" character to have crossover the "Tekken" series as game producer Katsuhiro Harada and game designer Michael Murray teased the idea of more guest characters in "Tekken 7", even though Harada did not want it at first, as he stated that adding outside fighters from other games due to the fear of destroying it continuity.

Meanwhile, there are rumors making rounds regarding the possible launch date of "Tekken 7" as Twitter username Wonkey tweeted revealed that details from his source.

According to his inside source, the date for "Tekken 7's" release is on February 2017 and Bandai Namco has yet to make a statement regarding the validity of the information as gaming fans are still skeptical about information from Wonkey's source, WCCFTech reported.

Harada revealed his plans for "Tekken 7's" post-launch as he teased that there will likely have DLC for the sequel. Harada explained that fighting games should be released as a package and let the players enjoy for a unknown considerable amount of time. And if the gamers are done and want something new to the table, then Bandai Namco will release something new for the gaming fans to enjoy.

The roster for "Tekken 7" will consist of Jin, Kazuya, Heihachi, Hwoarang, Steve Fox, Asuka, Lili, Xiaoyu, Marshall Law, Paul Phoenix, King, Yoshimitsu, Bryan Fury, Feng Wei, Dragunov, Leo, Lars, Alisa, Nina, Bob, Devil Jin and Lee/Violet, along with new faces Claudio Serafino, Katarina Alves, Lucky Chloe, Josie Rizal, Jack-7, Gigas, Shaheen, Master Raven, Akuma and Kazumi Mishima.

"Tekken 7" will launch in early 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and the PC.
