LG officially unveils the new V20 Android 7.0 Nougat smartphone

LG has finally unveiled the new V20 flagship which is being touted as the world's first Android 7.0 Nougat smartphone with a Hi-Fi 32-bit Quad DAC claimed to be better than the LG V10's.

Google's Nexus line of smartphones often are the first ones to get the latest versions out every year. However, the LG V20 is beating the Nexus Sailfish and Nexus Marlin by being released in Korea later this month with the new Nougat version.

LG V20 Specs and Features

Under the hood, the LG V20 is also not lacking in firepower. The Android 7.0 Nougat smartphone will sport a 5.7-inch QHD IPS LCD screen with the Second Screen on top.

Unfortunately, LG did not install an OLED screen instead which could have been better in terms of battery life and display clarity. The LG V20 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB RAM, The Verge has learned.

In terms of storage, the phone has 64GB and can support expandable storage through a microSD card for up to an impressive 2TB. Another possibly disappointing thing is that the battery only has 3200mAh in capacity which could only last a day even under normal use.

The LG V20 does have a MIL-STD-810G impact resistance to prevent it from being smashed to bits when the user accidentally drops them, Android Authority reported. Drop tests showed that the glass only broke when it fell from a high height and hit the display directly.

Another good LG V20 spec is it is capable of the Quick Charge 3.0 technology through the USB-C jack. The audio technology is also fine-tuned by Bang & Olufsen so audiophiles know that the phone does nto mess around when it comes to sounds.

LG V20 Price and Release Date

LG will release the V20 this month in Korea but there is no word of an international release yet. Google could still beat the smartphone with their Nougat devices if they could launch it before the LG V20 is rolled out internationally.

No price has been revealed yet but many expect it might be a little more expensive than the LG V10. Further announcements are expected from the company regarding the LG V20 international release.
