If reports are anything to go by, users of T-Mobile smartphone will get Android 7.0 Nougat update earlier than anticipated if everything goes fine. T-Mobile has listed more than half a dozen HTC and Samsung handsets as sorted by manufacturer for the roll-out of the Android 7.0 N.
The latest update released has been rolled out to the Android One, Nexus Player, Pixel C, Nexus 9, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Nexus 6 via over-the-air, The Verge reported. It is expected that the devices from other smartphone makers will receive the newest update a little later, and some will get the firmware in 2017.
Reports claim that the mobile carrier has listed devices such as HTC One M9, HTC 10, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
T-Mobile did not disclose the precise launch date of Android 7.0 N. However, the mobile carrier said that it will begin rolling out the update to its variant of select devices pretty soon. HTC One A9 is yet to be listed on the carrier. The device has been confirmed by the tech company HTC for the software update. It is expected that more devices will be listed soon.
According to many reports, LG V20 will be the first phone to be shipped with Android N. The new OS will soon be seeded to other handsets but the update will run up to many months.
It appears that HTC has begun working on releasing the new update to some of its devices. According to a 9to5Google report, the company will first roll out the Android 7.0 Nougat to HTC 10 before seeding it to the One M9 and One A9.
HTC has said that it has got the final shipping of the software from Google and that its roll out will start soon. The firmware will be seeded to the HTC 10 in the fourth quarter of 2016 and the One A9 (unlocked) and One M9 (unlocked) and carrier versions of the devices will get the operating system later.
Android 7.0 N comes with many new features such as smarter battery usage via the Doze feature, expanded emojis, split screen multitasking and customizable homescreen widgets.
