"Bates Motel" Season 5 may be the final season of the hit series.

Sam and Lila are set to join Marione Crane in "Bates Motel" Season 5.

Recently, it was announced during Comic Con that Rihanna will be part of "Bates Motel" Season 5 to portray the iconic character of Marione Crane of the 1960's film of Alfred Hitchcock titled "Psycho." So fans should expect that Sam, Crane's lover in the original movie, will also be introduced anytime soon.

For those uninitiated, the idea of "Bates Motel" was derived from the movie "Psycho." The storyline revolves around the main protagonist Marione Crane then portrayed by Janet Leigh. In the movie, Crane is an employee in a real estate firm and a passionate lover to her love interest Sam played by John Gavin. The conflict in the movie was rooted when the two cannot get married because of financial difficulties of Gavin, wherein Crane was prompted to take a large sum of money from her company and run away. The horror starts when she ended up at the "Bates Motel" and met the hotel manager Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins).

In as much as Crane was already named, there is no report yet whether the producers of the series will adapt the storyline of the original movie. However, it can be inferred from the statements of Carlton Cuse released by TVLine that even if the management plans to recreate the classic horror film, certain events from the movie will be adapted to give justice to the original film and this includes the involvement of characters other than Marione Crane.

In fact, rumor has it that the producers are already looking for the perfect actor to breathe to life Sam's character who is said to be a sexy devil and an edgy hunk.

Along with Sam, Crane's sister named Lila is also rumored to be featured in "Bates Motel" Season 5, although there is no confirmation from the management yet about her introduction. According to Cuse, careful choice on who will portray these characters is important because the introduction of Marion Crane is a turning point in the series.

"Bates Motel" Season 5 is expected to be aired in 2017.
