Fujian City’s rush-hour traffic jam stood for a while as residents watched a middle-aged woman take her “pet” for a walk.

The two attracted public attention because the “pet” was a young man who was crawling on his hands and knees with a dog collar and lead around his neck, reported South China Morning Post.

The incident happened on Friday evening with the woman, wearing deep blue skirt and high heels, occasionally stopped to stroke her “pet’s head. She told curious bystanders that he was her “dog.” Some pedestrians stopped to watch the spectacle, while some drivers parked their vehicles and took photos.

Those who snapped photos shared it on social media and the image of the man in black T-shirt and jeans crawling on his hands and knees being dragged by the middle-aged woman became viral. Witnesses said the young man was wearing kneepads for protection.

Because of the traffic jam the two caused, police saw them and ordered the two to stop what they were doing. She removed the rope from the man’s neck and the two walked to the nearest shopping mall. The images elicited a lot of negative comments from netizens that while the behavior is not illegal, it should have been kept private than shown to the public.
