Guinness book marks “Game of Thrones” as the most pirated TV show

Popular fantasy drama show on television "Game of Thrones" has once again named as the most pirated TV show by the Guinness Book of World Records.

This blockbuster HBO series has won the title for the fourth consecutive year according to the 62nd edition of Guinness Book of World Records for the year 2017. It's been reported that whopping 14.4 million illegal downloading has been recorded for this fiction drama series, Worldscreen reported.

"Game of Thrones" has a long history of setting new records as a television series. In 2016, it was declared by Guinness Book of World Records as the "Largest TV drama simulcast" and back in 2012, the show grabbed the title for "Most pirated television program".

"Game of Thrones" has also set a new record being the most Emmy Award-winning TV show as its fifth season bagged total 12 number of awards. In 2016, the drama series received total 23 nominations in different categories of the coveted Emmys which is the maximum number of recognition for any TV show of all time.

In spite of huge popularity across the globe, "Game of Thrones" has attracted some negative responses because of its extremely disturbing violence scenes. Some of the critics even blamed the show of promoting violence against women and gender inequalities.

Gary Davey, the content managing director of Digital Spy has slammed this allegation of gender biasedness with his firm response stating "I think that's nonsense. There is also a lot of violence to men. For anybody who's watching the show, it can be a very violent show."

The 7th season of "Game of Thrones" has disheartened millions of fans and followers with its delay but the recognition for the show has certainly compensated their disappointment, Times of India focused. Now the fans have a thousand reasons to celebrate the spirit of "Game of Thrones".

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is all ready to put the screen on the blaze in the Summer of 2017. There are also rumors that Season 8 is going to be the last season of this popular fiction show.
