Atletico Madrid did not have the ideal start to its season with two straight drawn matches versus newly-promoted sides Alaves and Leganes in their first two games.

However, the team was able to bounce back in their third game, completely thrashing winless squad Celta Vigo, 4-0, on the road at the Estadio Municipal de Balaídos last Saturday for their first victory this term, as per Daily Mail Online.

French forward Antoine Griezmann was the man of the match with a brace at the 73rd and 81st minutes while midfielder Koke and substitute striker Angel Correa netted one each to complete the four-goal haul of Diego Simeone's side.

With the win, Los Colchoneros remained unbeaten in the Spanish top flight and is now at the seventh spot of the league table. They are tied on points with Villarreal and Alaves in the standings, but their superior goal difference put them ahead of the two squads.

Meanwhile, Sporting Gijon is having a strong start this term with two wins and a draw in their first three games.

Los Rojiblancos are coming off a 2-1 nipping of Leganes last Sunday at their home field of Estadio El Molinón for their second win for the season, ESPN reported.

Head coach Abelardo Fernández's started brilliantly and managed to score the first goal of the game at the 17th minute with a right-footed strike from Spanish midfielder Nacho Cases.

The team then scored another one with two minutes left before halftime via a spot kick from Croatian striker Duje Cop to make it a 2-0 lead at the break.

Leganes managed to score a consolation goal at the 58th minute with a volley from defender Diego Rico, but it was the last goal in the match as the hosts earn the win and three points afterward.
