Emma is close to returning to WWE television after suffering a back injury.

Emma has been out with a back injury since mid-May and she is expected to miss six months of action. However, the latest rumors suggest that Emma is close to returning and she could end up being a member of the Monday Night Raw roster.

The 27-year-old was gaining momentum as a top heel on the main roster going against Becky Lynch when her injury occurred. It was an unfortunate injury since she top officials were rumored to be impressed with her development and they were about to give her a push.

Nevertheless, Emma underwent surgery in May for a slipped disc on her back and she is expected to return around November. However, she was backstage on this week's Raw in Baltimore and she is said to be returning to action soon, per Cageside Seats.

WWE listed her as a free agent after the draft and it is unknown in which brand she will end up. According to Sportskeeda, the apparent breakup of Charlotte and Dana Brooke points to a possible return for Emma.

Before her injury, Emma and Brooke teamed up to feud with Lynch. The reunion of the two would do wonders for Brooke's career which has not panned out. She has lost most of her matches in the main roster.

Emma and Brooke work well together as seen in their run with NXT last year. They feuded with Asuka before their call-ups and they had a pair of great matches with the current NXT women's champion. Brooke lost at NXT TakeOver: Respect while Emma got defeated at NXT TakeOver: London.

Another possible scenario for Emma's return is on SmackDown wherein she goes right back into her feud with Lynch, who is the current SmackDown women's champion. She can easily slide right in the mix if she attacks the champion after her match at No Mercy against Alexa Bliss.

It should also be noted that Emma is in a relationship with Zack Ryder, who is a member of SmackDown. The WWE is not against their relationship which means they could easily put her on the blue brand unlike with Paige and Alberto Del Rio.

Other WWE relationships that were not broken up by the draft include The Miz and Maryse, Dean Ambrose and Renee Young, Rusev and Lana, and John Cena and Nikki Bella. Check out the video below for Emma's last match before her injury.
