WWE Rumors: Daniel Bryan to be released? Retired superstar wrestling back in the indies

Daniel Bryan attends WWE SummerSlam Press Conference at Beverly Hills Hotel on August 13, 2013.

Daniel Bryan is currently the SmackDown general manager and he is doing fine in his new role. However, Bryan revealed in a recent interview that he has thought about asking for his WWE release and wrestle for other independent wrestling promotions.

The former WWE World Champion retired in February after doctors found a small lesion in his brain that causes seizures. This lesion will only get worse if he continues to wrestle and he had no other choice but to retire.

It should be noted that several other doctors have cleared Bryan and gave him permission to wrestle again. However, the WWE never allowed him to return since their own doctor advised that Bryan's concussion history is very concerning.

In an interview with The Daily Progress, the 35-year-old revealed that there are times that he wanted to get out of his contract with the WWE. He added that he still thinks about wrestling on the independent circuit as a masked superstar.

"There are times I just get all worked up and I'm like, I need to call them and I'm just going to ask for my release," Bryan said.

"Hell, I might even be wearing a mask at an independent show next week dressed up as Star Man," he added.

All those thoughts about wrestling again might have changed if Bryan was not starting a family with his wife and former WWE superstar, Brie Bella. The lovely couple both got out of the business as wrestlers almost the same time and tried to start having kids.

Nevertheless, Bryan is still involved in wrestling as an on-screen general manager for SmackDown. He even got into a program with The Miz, who he called a coward for his soft wrestling style. It got a lot of people talking but do not expect the former WWE World Champion to wrestle again.

According to Forbes, even though the company is teasing a possible return for Bryan, it is not going to happen. The concussion issue is very hard to ignore and Bryan has already accepted his fate. He finds it really difficult but he will get used to it with time.

Several reports have indicated that the reason for the Bryan-Miz program was to elevate the Intercontinental champion. Check out the video below for The Miz promo against Bryan that everyone was talking about three weeks ago.
