| Sep 16, 2016 09:48 AM EDT

"Kingdom Hearts 3' is an action-RPG developed by Square Enix for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

The upcoming "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD"  release is being rescheduled from its initial release date in December 2016 to January 2017.  The delay comes courtesy of the latest "Kingdom Hearts" trailer, which was unveiled during the most recent Tokyo Game Show event.

Although gamers are advised not to worry because they will only have to wait for a few weeks, most of them are still outraged by the discovery. Their anger is mainly because they have been looking forward to playing the game by the end of the year, and, however short it might be; the delay is still a big disappointment.

To add fuel to the fire, the deferral of "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD" raises further questions about what will happen to "Kingdom Hearts 3" sequel. It is notable that Square-Enix had announced that the game would not be out soon, but the latest happening adds to the uncertainty surrounding its release.

According to Geek, it is quite unclear of what fate will befall the release of "Kingdom Hearts 3." Whatever the case may be, "Kingdom Hearts" fans will just have to bear the weight and learn the virtues of patience.

As per now, there is no valid release date specified for "Kingdom Hearts 3" and Square-Enix has been secretive in giving details. The only rumor surrounding the game is that it is expected to come with improved graphics resolution and up-to-date features.

The delayed "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD" game, on the other hand, will contain three games namely, "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop distance," "Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep-A fragmentary Passage," and "Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover." The first one is a remaster of a 3DS game while the other two are new entries in the franchise.

According to Engadget, "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" will serve as a mouth-watering appetizer for "Kingdom Hearts 3." It will unveil in Japan on Jan 12 and in North America on Jan 24.

In the meantime, players can enjoy the "Kingdom Hearts" trailer, which features a remixed version of "Simple and Clean" by Utada Hikaru plus some of the expected features of the game. Watch it below:
