Southampton is still winless after four games so far in the current term, alternating drawn and lost matches, and new head coach Claude Puel is hoping that he earns his first-ever English top flight win against the Swans in this match.

The Saints are coming off a sorry 1-2 road loss to contending squad Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last Saturday to succumb to their second defeat this season, as per Fox Sports.

An own goal from the Gunners' legendary goalkeeper Petr Cech started the game's scoring at the 18th minute, but the home team quickly equalized 11 minutes later with a textbook scissors kick from defender Laurent Koscielny.

However, Arsenal grabbed the win and three points away from Southampton with an injury time penalty kick from midfielder Santi Cazorla, preventing the Saints from winning their first match this term.

Meanwhile, Swansea is on a three-game winless slide after pulling off a 1-0 victory over newly-promoted side Burnley in their season-opener last month.

The Swans then went on a two-game losing skid to Hull City, 0-2, and Leicester City, 1-2, before holding powerhouse squad Chelsea to a 2-2 draw at the Liberty Stadium last Sunday, Sports Mole reported.

Spanish striker Diego Costa opened the match's scoring at the 18th minutes, helping the Blues bring a 1-0 lead at the halftime break.

The game was eventually leveled to 1-1 by 59th-minute spot kick from Swansea midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson before teammate Leroy Fer made it a 2-1 game for the hosts with a goal three minutes later.

Costa scored his second goal of the contest, though, at the 81st minute to preserve a draw and a share of a point in the overall standings for both clubs.

The predicted result is a close 1-0 decision for Swansea City.
