No Mercy Results and Highlights

Smackdown Live preview - Two huge match-ups have just been announced for the Sept. 20 episode of the Blue Brand at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.

John Cena and Dean Ambrose, the contenders for A.J Styles' WWE Championship at No Mercy, are set to face each other in the main event, while the Miz will finally accept the challenge of Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental championship on Tuesday at 8 p.m US CT.

Cena vs. Ambrose preview: the Cenation leader will have an opportunity to give some payback on Ambrose after lunatic fringe turned on Cena at the conclusion of their tag-team match with A.J Styles and the Miz last week.

Ambrose, who lost his WWE Heavyweight championship to the Phenomenal One at Backlash, believes no one deserves more of a title shot than him who puts everything on the line every single night.

Unfortunately, the move by Smackdown commissioner Shane O'Mac to insert Cena into the championship picture didn't go well with the former Shield enforcer, who believes a part-timer like Cena doesn't deserve to be in any main event match.

The Miz vs. Ziggler for IC championship: Fresh off his contract renegotiation with SD general manager Daniel Bryan, the Miz agreed to defend his Intercontinental title against Ziggler two weeks before No Mercy.

While the details of the deal remain undisclosed, the Miz seems happy enough with his new contract that he finally agreed to give Ziggler a rematch a week after beating him, thanks to his wife's rigside antics, at Backlash.

With the title already booked, it's going to be interesting how the A-lister would respond to the challenge and prove doubters wrong once again. On the other hand, Ziggler views this title match as his last chance to make himself relevant in the Smackdown brand after back-to-back PPV setbacks.

Potential Spoilers for Smackdown Live:

-Meanwhile, the Usos has emerged as the strongest contenders for the Smackdown tag-team championship Heath Slater and Rhyno currently posses. The high-flying Samoans have been on a tear the last two weeks, and now poised to take the title.

-Jack Swagger is expected to be introduced as new member of the Blue brand. Alexa Bliss set to build feud with Smackdown women's title holder Becky Lynch, and Carmela going at Nikki Bella anew.
