New MacBook Pro 2016 updates: Device will be powered by Cannon Lake processors and not by Kaby Lake

If latest reports are anything to go by, MacBook Pro 2016 will be powered by the newest Cannon Lake processors and not by Kaby Lake processors.

The chipmaker Intel will release Cannon Lake processor next year, according to a Digital Trends report. Furthermore, it will be the first generation of the 10-nm production technology.

It is said that the latest processor will be continuing the U and Y processor lines where power requirements are 15 watts and 4.5 watts.

According to some reports, if the new MacBook Pro will not be released in 2016, it will definitely be launched next year with Kaby Lake processor but will be refreshed with Cannon Lake processor inside in 2018.

According to reports, Coffee Lake, the successor of Cannon Lake, will be released in 2018 continuing the H  and U models of Intel's processor lines.

Furthermore, MacRumors reported that the upcoming MacBook Pro will come with OLED function bar and Touch ID functionality.

It will let fingerprint logins via a touch panel. It would be embedded on the touchpad or on the power button. Reports claim that the forthcoming MacBook Pro will be a good option for people who play video games.

It is expected that the Microsoft Surface Book 2 and Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be a big reveal. However, the 2016 MacBook Pro can certainly put up a good fight with these devices.

The Apple device will bring some significant changes such as removing the headphone jack. Back in June, the Cupertino-based Apple spoke about launching a new version of the operating system, Sierra, that will bring deeper iCloud integration, new messaging, new photo-management features and more efficient storage to desktops and laptops.

The company is considering bringing gray, gold and silver colors to the MacBook Pro line. It is not known whether the colored laptops will be made available when the new line is launched.

Rumors are doing the rounds that the Cupertino-based Apple will also launch the new MacBook Air this year. Some reports suggest that the Apple device will be unveiled in October 2016.
