'Tekken 7' coming to PC and PS4/Xbox One: "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" to feature new characters

"Tekken 7" is finally coming to PC and consoles next year, a new trailer released by Bandai Namco at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2016 giving fans a look at the fighting game in the PlayStation 4. The clip focused on the epic story mode of the beloved game. Bandai will be releasing "Tekken 7" for PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam in early 2017.

The trailer had the spotlight on the members of the Mishima clan, who plays a large role in the story mode of the title. Media outlets are excited about the trailer as it promises a great and amazing fighting experience for console users.

In addition to the Mishimas' story, "Tekken 7" will also have other story arcs centered on other characters in the roster. According to Forbes, "Tekken 7" is one of the new wave of Japanese games that uses Unreal Engine 4 and it is clear as well as the prior arcade releases to this new console version.

While the game is simply called "Tekken 7," it is actually a port of the "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" arcade update. This means that as well as all the other new characters included in that update, gamers will finally be able to play as Akuma from "Street Fighter" in this new game.

In addition, Bandai Namco Entertainment has revealed new details on Claudio Serafino's storyline in "Tekken 7," which entails a group of exorcists that goes by the name The Archers of Sirius, in which he is the leader. In a description obtained by Anime News Network, the story involves the "highly secretive organization" who has been "banishing powerful entities from the world since ancient times."

The Archers of Sirius were approached by Mishima Zaibatsu and invited them to join his alliance. This was a shock to the group since their existence is known in the public, which led them to suspect Mishima Zaibatsu's motives.

The original "Tekken 7" was unveiled in Japanese arcades in March of last year and garnered a strong community resulting in the "Fated Retribution" update in July of this year. "Fated Retribution" came with all manner of classic "Tekken" casts to the new game's roster including Akuma.

This addition of a "Street Fighter" character in the game is likely the result of work done on the mothballed "Tekken X Street Fighter," with such, fans now get a chance to play as Akuma in "Tekken." The new narrative for Akuma's appearance in "Tekken 7" has also been handled well, as it pits him directly against Heihachi Mishima.

"Tekken 7" will be released for PS4, Xbox One and Personal Computer sometime early next year with the PS4 version of the game supporting PlayStation VR. In addition to the crop of fighters unveiled in the arcade version of the game, the console versions will come with Lee Chaolan and Violet as playable characters.
