With iOS 10 officially out and Apple's recent deployment of the 10.0.1 update, it would seem that release date of the mobile operating system's jailbreak version is happening soon. But in reality, everything remains up in the air.
Jailbreak fans are hoping to get the iOS 10 JB tool following reports that hacker Luca Todesco has already cracked the software. But while Todesco showed off that iOS 10 can be jailbroken, he seems uninterested to complete the work and provide a fully working and untethered jailbreak to the public soon.
Some in the jailbreak community seem convince that Todesco will not be the source of the next jailbreak. The compass points to either iH8sn0w or the reliable Team Pangu from China. TaiG could also spring a surprise but it is Pangu that is the more solid candidate.
The dev group, after all, has already indicated that work is underway for an iOS 10 jailbreak. In fact, the team has demonstrated its significant progress when in a recent event in Shanghai, Cydia was shown installed on iOS 10.
However, Pangu has elected for now to keep things under wraps and jailbreak watchers can only assume that the group is likely waiting for the next major iOS 10 update before finalizing its ongoing work. The reason for that is for the upcoming jailbreak to work as long as possible - Pangu wouldn't want Apple to quickly patch its modified iOS with a swift issuance of a software patch.
So the wait remains indefinitely and according to Gotta Be Mobile, it's likely that jailbreak fans will have to be more patient for a few more weeks as jailbreak release following a fresh iOS rollout typically happens between October and November.
It would be a stretch but while waiting, there are important things or precautions to observe in the build up to next jailbreak release. One is to steer clear of the claims that a jailbreak has been completed and ready to download.
GBM said that without the familiar names - Pangu, TaiG or iH8sn0w - attached to these fantastic claims, these jailbreaking tools are most likely fakes. The report added that there's one way to spot a fake jailbreak - when the so-called creator asks for money.
The likes of Pangu and TaiG, and even during the time of Team Evad3rs, never demanded money for their efforts and there is no sign that will change in the upcoming legitimate iOS 10 jailbreak. In short, when money becomes part of the equation one should smell scam to come next.
Lastly, for fans to get the iOS 10 jailbreak when it comes online without glitch they also need to keep a safe distance from the 10.0.1 update provided by Apple. Installing the patch will surely lock them out of the next jailbreak release.
