'Stranger Things' is an eight-episode thriller airing at Netflix.

New details and possible spoilers for "Stranger Things" season 2 will feature Will Byers developing powers and Eleven not returning to the show.

Several rumors are making rounds regarding the fate of Millie Bobby Brown's character Eleven in the hit Netflix series "Stranger Things" as Brown stated during an interview with Lorraine that she is "unsure" if she will be able to return as El in the show's second season, Express UK reported.

Although, Brown could  have been playing coy, so as to not give away any plot twists or to keep fans guessing, but she also mentioned that she is eyeing up a separate project as well.

Previous reports revealed that the Duffer brothers stated that Eleven's fate in "Stranger Things" season 2 is still "up in the air", which led to the speculation that there are still no plans for her return as of now.

Still, the showrunners assured viewers that "Stranger Things" season 2 will feature more places in the Upside Down world, which will answer a lot of questions from the monsters inhabiting the world, Eleven's possible appearance to Will being drawn back to that world.

In other news, it seems that Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) will have a bigger role to play in the events of "Stranger Things" season as cast member Gaten Matarrozo theorized that Will someone develop powers similar to Eleven.

Matarrozo told AMC (via Melty) that the monster who abducted Will is attracted to him simply because it senses people with powers and he believed that Will could be one of them. Matarrozo's theory may make sense since the Demogorgon was attracted to Eleven because she is "special", hence cementing the theory that he has powers is the fact that the Demogorgon did not kill him. Instead, it kept him alive and possibly even used him to incubate its eggs.

There are are other speculations that Eleven will channel her presence in "The Upside Down" world through Will as the flashbacks he had of the dark place supposedly hints to their mental connection in the plot of season 2. Eleven can now see through Will and vice versa, after she located him in the dark dimension.

New characters will be introduced in "Stranger Things" season 2 as the showrunners are looking to cast several actors to play the roles of Max, Roman and Billy.

In addition, nine episodes are listed in season 2 along with their titles such as “Madmax”, “The Boy Who Came Back To Life”, “The Pumpkin Patch”, “The Palace”, “The Storm”, “The Pollywog”, “The Secret Cabin”, “The Brain” and “The Lost Brother”.

"Stranger Things" season 2 will premiere sometime in 2017 on Netflix.
