Samsung Galaxy S8 updates: More advanced technologies coming to Galaxy S8, powerful processor and more

| Sep 24, 2016 04:13 AM EDT

The Samsung Galaxy S8 has been reported to be packed with 99 percent screen-to-body ratio using the same OLED technology applied in the S7.

The tech company Samsung will reportedly release Galaxy S8 next year.

According to reports, the new handset will be showcased ahead of 2017's MWC in Spain that is said to start around February of next year.

Speculations are also doing the rounds that the software company will launch four more smartphones apart from the Samsung Galaxy S8. According to a Digital Trends report, another handset bearing the codename Project Valley that is anticipated to be donning an ultra-bendable OLED touchscreen will be launched.

Furthermore, earlier reports suggested that the screen feature will have a Bio Blue attribute that will serve as some kind of a moderator for the blue light that is being radiated by the device's display.

According to a new leak, the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a more powerful processor than the processor found inside the Samsung Galaxy S7. The new smartphone will sport a 10nm SoC.

It is said that the South Korean company will be looking into making 10nm and 14nm chips, but the former is the one that is likely to be used for the Samsung device.

Samsung is using a combination of ARM's newest Mali-G71 graphics unit and a 10nm Exynos 8895 processor for Galaxy S8.

According to a SamMobile report, the Mali-G71 GPU will be twice as powerful as Samsung Galaxy S7's Mal-T880 MP12 GPU. Also, reports suggest that the GPU of Galaxy S8 will be faster than the GPU of the Snapdragon 830 that is scheduled to arrive next year.

If reports are anything to go by, more advanced technologies are coming to the handset. The GPU could support GPU Compute, Android Renderscript, OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan, high-end 4K and virtual reality experiences.

The company has remained silent regarding the development of Galaxy S8. But if earlier launches of its predecessors are anything to go by, there is a high possibility that the Samsung device could be released early next year.

Earlier, there has been a leak on patents filed by the South Korean company that is a foldable phone screen. Rumor has it that there will be Galaxy S8 Edge and Galaxy S8, including the Galaxy X released in 2017.

According to many reports, there could be a possibility that the Samsung Galaxy S8 itself will have foldable screen.
