Naughty Dog and "The Last of Us" community celebrates Outbreak Day 2016 with a sale on the PlayStation Store related to the video game. A limited edition poster has also been revealed.

Senior communications manager Scott Lowe wrote on the official blog of PlayStation that it was over three years ago that players were introduced to a different kind of post-apocalyptic video game. In its lore, Sept. 26 represents the day the Cordyceps virus caused disaster to the world.

That day was dreadful for the living beings of that world, but for Naughty Dog and the video game's community, it is Outbreak Day. It is an annual celebration for it and it features great deals on the game, extra content, and merchandise.

The game studio has coordinated with PlayStation for this annual celebration to coordinate a global Outbreak Day sale at the PlayStation Store. The sale will run for the next week and it will include significant discounts on the video game, the standalone DLC Left Behind, and select multiplayer add-ons. The Outbreak Day PS4 theme is also available to download for free starting today.

The pricing and the availability of the items for sale will vary, which is why the game studio advices the players to check out the store to find out. The PlayStation Gear store is also offering 20 percent off on the video game's apparel and collectibles.

Lowe wants players who own the video game to share their memories of the game. He wants them to share gameplay videos, screenshots, and original art with them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. They should also use the hashtag #OutbreakDay2016 for the memories.

According to the official website of Mondo Tees, they are collaborating with the game studio to celebrate Outbreak Day 2016. For the fans of the video game, they have created a limited edition poster inspired by it.

The poster is illustrated by Kevin Tong and developed in close collaboration with the game studio. It will be a part of a small volume production and each will be individually hand numbered and signed by the artist.

The website's online store will be selling the limited edition poster in Sept. 26. 50 of the limited edition posters will also be available at MondoCon 2016.
