It was not only the trial date for Park Yoochun’s first accuser that was moved recently to Oct. 13 from Sept. 22.

The premiere of the embattled JYJ member and actor’s new movie, "Lucid Dream" was also changed to a later date due to his sexual assault scandal. Soompi reported that the production company and NEW had many discussions about the release date.

A production staff said the movie about a man who sought his son, lost the past three years, through his lucid dream, was initially scheduled for a fall release. However, the scandal threw them all off track

Editing Park Yoochun out of the movie was out of the question because he was a main character in the movie, besides Go Soo, Sol Kyung Gu, Kang Hye Jung, Park in Hwan and Chun Ho Jin. The better option was waiting out the controversy before they decide on a release date.

The film was shot before Park Yoochun enlisted for the military. It was shot in April, before four women came out in public and accused the singer and actor of rape. However, events worked in the actor’s favor eventually because the Gangnam Metropolitan Police dropped charges against him because it was difficult to prove he forced the women to have sex with him inside the bathroom of the bars where they were employed on four different occasions.

The police even filed charges and arrested Park Yoochun’s first accuser, A, A’s boyfriend and cousin, for blackmail and false accusations. With a court victory appearing likely for the Hallyu star, the production picked Jan. 4, 2017 as the premiere of “Lucid Dreams.” By then the nightmare of the rape accusations would likely have ended for the young actor whose career almost ended because of the scandal.
