'Transformers: Devastation'

Sony has revealed its list of free games for PlayStation Plus that can be downloaded in October in time for Halloween. The no-charge titles for PS4 owners include a new version of a "Resident Evil" remake and "Transformers: Devastation." PS3 subscribers can also download the racing arcade game "Mad Riders" and god game "From Dust," while PlayStation Vita owners get free downloads of  "Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~" and "Actual Sunlight."

"Resident Evil HD" is the new title of the popular franchise. It is a remastered version of the "Resident Evil" GameCube remake released in 2002.

Platinum Games' title featuring the Hasbro toy robots will be included in the list of games Sony is offering free of charge. The action game was published by Activision and released  in October 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows.

The original "Resident Evil" was released in March 1996 by Capcom for the first Playstation console. This survival horror game is the perfect genre for Halloween's night of ghosts and witches.

Last year the latest update of the two decade-old game was released. The environment and puzzles of "Resident Evil" set in Spencer Mansion helped to keep the game fresh, according to IGN.

Meanwhile, "The Transformers" was released in 1985 for the Commodore 64 computer. In the game the Autobots must defend themselves from an attack by the evil Decepticons and collect pieces of the Energon Cube.

The latest action game added new fun and energy to the franchise.

PS3 owners will also get some gratuitous games. The off-road racing game "Mad Riders" and god game "From Dust" will be free to download.

Owners of the PS Vita console can download "Actual Sunlight" for free. The mostly text-based adventure focusing on the life of Evan Winter has themes including love and depression.

"Code: Realize" is a visual novel set in a fantasy version of Victorian London that puts players in the role of a woman with a deadly touch.

In related news, this year's PlayStation Experience event will reportedly happen in December, according to GameSpot. Last year's web page for buying tickets includes a new header image showing that PlayStation Experience 2016 will happen from December 3-4 in Anaheim, California.

PSX started in 2014. Last year's event included details and trailers for games such as "Uncharted 4," "Final Fantasy VII Remake"  and "Street Fighter V."
