MacBook Air 2016

Fresh information about the rumored MacBook Air 2016 indicates that the device will be announced soon next month. It is expected to feature Retina display.

Previous reports indicate that Apple will be axing MacBook Air lineup as it will be mainly concentrating on selling MacBook Pro and MacBook series. However, according to Rhoda Alexander, Director Tablet and Notebook PCs at IHS Markit Technology that the production of 13-inch MacBook Air as well as 13.3-inch and 15.4-inch variants of MacBook Pro already began in the second of this year, Forbes reported.

Alexander added that these devices will be launching in late September or October this year. Since September has come to an end, it is likely that 2016 editions of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air will arrive next month. Moreover, previous rumors have also stated that the MacBook Pro 2016 will be launched in the last quarter of this year.

Retina Display, but No Intel Kaby Lake Chipset

One of the most awaited features of MacBook Air 2016 is Retina display. None of the MacBook Air models that have released so far feature Retina Display. MacBook Air 2016 is unlikely to feature Kaby Lake processor because the notebook is get announced before the upcoming Intel chipset enters mass production.

The reason why rumors are expecting the inclusion of Kaby Lake processor inside upcoming MacBook Pro and Air models is that the Cupertino company seems to give more importance to graphics these days. However, the MacBook Air and Pro of this year are now speculated to include Skylake chipsets.

NVIDIA Graphics?

However, in order to deliver better graphics, it may feature NVIDIA graphics, The BitBag reported. A recent job vacancy listing by Apple states that the company is looking for a new employee for NVIDA Mac graphics driver team.

This hints that Apple has entered a deal with NVIDIA to provide graphics to the upcoming MacBook Pro and Air devices. However, both the firms have not revealed any official information on their collaboration.

The MacBook Air 2016 will come loaded with macOS Sierra. Rumors Apple will be removing the standard 3.5 mm jack from its upcoming notebooks. Speculations indicate that it may also feature a Touch ID fingerprint sensor and lastly, it is expected to come with a redesigned appeal.
