Those who've seen Luke Cage in action on "Jessica Jones" know that he's always going to side with the good. However, when it comes to choosing between Team Captain America and Team Iron Man, actor Mike Colter has other things considered.
This has been the big question in the Marvel Universe ever since "Captain America: Civil War" came out. Stars have been divided on this issue ever since.
At a recent Empire Live event, Colter, given that both Captain America and Iron Man are fighting for the good side, considered another tangible factor when making his decision.
"Who's paying more?" Colter said, as quoted by Empire. The automatic answer would be the "genius billionaire playboy philanthropist" Tony Stark; however, that doesn't necessarily mean to say that Steve Rogers doesn't have any funding to back up his team.
So far, the Marvel Television Universe hasn't been quite in on the whole alliances concept since the heroes have been working individually. But that's going to change in the coming months as Netflix works on Marvel's "The Defenders," which will bring together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist as a team of superheroes.
Meanwhile, "Luke Cage" is making its debut on Netflix on Sept. 30. In an interview with IGN, Colter hinted at a few things fans could expect from the upcoming series.
"Once you come into the Luke Cage series, it's a different world, because he's in a different gear now," Colter revealed. "You know, he's almost in neutral, because when you start the series he's trying to regroup and trying to figure out what's his next move."
As Luke Cage rebuilds his life Harlem, he is confronted by new threats that spring him into action. Mahershala Ali is taking on the role of Cornell "Cottonmouth" Strokes, the big bad in the series. The Harlem nightclub owner crosses path with Luke after the former's criminal activities shakes up Luke's world.
Simone Missick also joins the show as Misty Knight. In the comic books, Misty has a bionic arm that she uses to defeat bad guys. She might also play Luke's love interest on the show.
