Xiaomi Mi 5s vs Mi 5s Plus: Which one should you buy? Specs, features compared

The company Xiaomi announced Mi 5s Plus and Mi 5s on September 27, 2016.

It is said that the devices will hit the shelves in October this year. Both the devices from Xiaomi are available on pre-orders.

Let's take a look at the specifications of the two Xiaomi devices.

The Mi 5s weighs 145 grams and has a dimension of 145.6 x 70.3 x 8.3 mm. The Mi 5s Plus, on the other hand, weighs 168 grams and has dimensions of 154.6 x 77.7 x 8 mm.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s has a 5.15-inch touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. The Mi 5s Plus has a 5.7-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.

The two devices have MIUI protection and the Xiaom i Mi 5s has a 3D Touch display for the 4GB RAM/128GB internal storage variant.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus as well as Xiaomi Mi 5s run on the Android 6.0 M operating system. Also, the devices are powered by Adreno 530 graphics chipset and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, BGR reported. They come in two variants and do not support microSD card.

The Xiaomi Mi 5s 64GB variant packs a 3GB RAM, while the Mi 5s 128GB variant packs a 4GB RAM. The Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus 64GB variant packs a 4GB RAM, whereas Mi 5s Plus 128GB variant packs a 6GB RAM.

Both devices feature a 12 megapixel primary camera and a 4 megapixel secondary camera. The primary camera of Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus and Xiaomi Mi 5s has dual-LED flash and phase detection autofocus. Auto-HDR, face/smile detection, panorama, touch focus and geo-tagging are some of the other camera features.

The sensors of Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus and Xiaomi Mi 5s include barometer, compass, proximity, accelerometer and Fingerprint. Quick Charge 3.0 is available in both versions.

The Mi 5s boasts a 3,200 mAh battery and the Mi 5s Plus packs a 3,800 mAh battery, Digital Trends reported. The two devices come in color options such as rose gold, gold, gray and silver.

Meanwhile, recent reports suggest that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will now be launched in November. According to reports, the upcoming device will feature a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1,440x2,560 pixels.

Some of the other rumored features of Mi Note 2 include a 4,000mAh battery, a 12MP dual camera, 4/6GB RAM, Snapdragon 821 processor and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system.
