The expansion of popular sci-fi first person shooter video game "Destiny" has been released recently. After a few days, impressions and reviews from critics were revealed. Currently, the critical reception of them is mixed.

Writer Mike Mahardy wrote on Gamespot that this new expansion is a better one than last year's The Taken King. This is a major step forward for the shooter.

Mahardy also said that this feels timid and safe, and it feels like it was just made to complete the game before revealing the possible sequel. He rated this game six out of 10.

Writer Matt Miller wrote on Game Informer that Rise of Iron gives players a lot of alternatives in the video game. It supports players any level of engagement from the activity they engage into the numerous reward they want to acquire. He also said that the latest release has some sentimental tone, which feels refreshing to the players.

Miller said that it does not offer the same expanse and the reimagining of core system that was found in last year's expansion. He also said that this new adventure through forgotten lands still stands strong on its own.

Writer David Houghton wrote on GamesRadar that this new expansion is built in layers rather than breadth. It has enough new places to see and many other things to do with high quality. He also said that it give's "Destiny's" overall ecosystem something new.

Houghton also said that the expansion offers to change the experience of the players to have even greater potential. Veteran players will feel refreshed and revitalized when they play it daily. For the newbies, it is recommended to play this now.

Chris Carter wrote on Destructoid that Bungie has put their live team in charge of this new expansion. He compared it to the Taken King expansion, which had more new stuff than this one. If he assessed this video game right now in its total package, he said that it is easier to recommend this one now.
