Star Wars Episode VIII director Rian Johnson is shown on the screen during a Disney fan event.

The trailer for the new episode of New Star Wars Rebels, titled "The Antilles extraction," has just been released by Lucasfilm and Disney XD.

The video clip features fans-favorite character Wedge Antilles, which was previously played by Denis Lawson and now will be voiced by Nathan Kress (iCarly). The introduction of Wedge Antilles and the touch of his backstory as an Imperial TIE Fighter pilot only to defect the growing rebellion is probably the highlight of the upcoming season.

However, the episode will also feature a stronger Sabine, who is going undercover in the Empire's elite flight academy. Her mission is to help several young pilots wanting to defect rebellion break out.

Furthermore, it is reported that the planned rebellion is near its completion as Ezra leads the Ghost Crew. They are acquiring new materials and recruiting members who will join them in the fight against the Empire. In fact, they have already established a secret based in Atollon.

It is only apt for them to be well-prepared for the imperial force to obliterate since the rebels are now under the command of Grand Admiral Thrawn, known for his strategic, tactical, and cultural shrewdness, which poses enough threat to them incomparable to those they have previously faced. Ezra and her troops are planning on a direct assault against the empire.

For those uninitiated, the "Star Wars Rebels" is one of the creations of Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Carrie Beck, being produced by Lucasfilm.

Fans should also take note of the returning voices in this season. New voices of the season include Tom Baker ("Doctor Who" for the voice of Force-wise Bendu and Lars Mikkelsen ("House of Cards") for Grand Admiral Thrawn.

So far, fans think that Dave Filoni and the rest of the team did a good job in developing the storyline for "Star Wars Rebels," thus, their expectation for this season is also heightened.
