Duggar News: Did Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar adopt 20th child to clean their family image?

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar adding 20th child to their family.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are doing everything to reinstate their image of a staunch Christian family. Just recently, the Duggars welcomed a new child into their family, an 8-yearl-old son of Michelle's niece who is homeless and unable to care for her child.

For now, the Duggar family has been given temporary custody and a hearing in November will determine if the boy will be officially added to the family or not. An insider revealed that the family is hopeful about the adoption and believe that it will come through, InTouch Weekly reported

The mother of the boy in question is Michelle's niece, Rachel Hutchins, who has already signed the adoption papers and has given the custody of her son to the Duggars. Hutchins was arrested in April for a break-in charge and is on a probation for three years. Her son was born out of wedlock.

While this may seem like a noble thing to do, the news about adopting a child will not be a seamless process for the family. The news about Josh's molestation of teenagers, including his sisters, came in May and of the five victims molested, four were his own sisters, Daily Mail reported. This could lead to the problems in adoption for the Duggars.

Meanwhile, rumor has it that Jim Bob and Michelle may be going through a rough patch in their marriage. The couple has been at odds due to their son, Josh. While the Duggar patriarch wants to bring their fallen son back into the family fold, his mother is unhappy with her husband's decision.

However, reports indicate that the couple is not splitting and is stronger than ever. In fact, Michelle wanted another child after she gave birth to a stillborn in 2011 and is all prepared to adopt her niece's son. But the fans wonder if this is truly a good intention or just a desperate attempt to win back the favors of their advertisers and TLC network by projecting a tight family image.
