"The Defenders" will debut on Netflix in 2017, while "Jessica Jones" Season 2 is expected to come out in 2018.

Although "Jessica Jones" Season 2 won't be out until next year, there's already a lot of buzz surrounding what will happen on the show. Given everything that went down in the first outing, answers to questions are expected to come out in the next season. Here's everything we know so far about "Jessica Jones" Season 2.

Jessica moves on from Kilgrave

The whole of "Jessica Jones" Season 1 focused on the heroine's mission to eliminate Kilgrave, who basically messed up her life with his mind-control powers. "Jessica Jones" Season 2 will explore Jessica's life after Kilgrave and her journey to recovery.

"People don't just heal, you don't go through that just to say, 'Oh, he got arrested, he's in jail, I'm OK now,'" actress Krysten Ritter said about what happens to her character after Kilgrave's death, Esquire reported. "That trauma is a huge part of who she is now."

Jessica and Luke Cage's relationship

Ritter's on-screen chemistry with Mike Colter was so intense and steamy that it landed them the top spot on ET's list of Sexiest TV Couples of 2015. Although Luke Cage has his own shown, he's definitely going to be back in Season 2.

"[Jessica and Luke] are so different, but they both have something kind of broken inside, and they identify with each other because of that. There's just some magic that happens," Ritter told ET about Jessica and Luke's relationship.

More on Trish's backstory

Trish Walker was a prominent presence in Jessica's life. Their friendship was more than just that - they were like sisters; they were family. Viewers got a sneak peek into Trish's life in "Jessica Jones" Season 1, especially when her overbearing stage mom Dorothy made an appearance. More of Trish's story and her relationship with her mother will be explored in the next season.

Also, there's a chance viewers might see Trish transform into her alter-ego Hellcat.

The next big bad

With Kilgrave gone, who's going to stir up some trouble in Jessica's world? There's already a prospect in line: Officer Bill Simpson, portrayed by Wil Traval. He's one of Kilgrave's victims, and like many of them, he also struggles with the trauma. However, there seems to be more to Bill than it seems.

In one scene, Bill goes to an old war doctor named Dr. Kozlov who introduced to him red, white and blue pills that made him stronger, but more violent. Bill's tendency to be aggressive indicates that he's alter-ego is most probably the villain Nuke.

"Jessica Jones" Season 2 is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2017.
