A highly anticipated match between two top four squads, Colombia (5-3-1, 16 points) and Uruguay (6-2-1, 19 points), is scheduled at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Melénde in Barranquilla on Oct. 11, Tuesday at the 2018 FIFA World Cup CONMEBOL qualifying tournament continues.

Colombia had won four of its last five outings in the Russia qualifiers to lift the squad up to fourth place in the overall standings at the moment. They are tied on points with Ecuador and Argentina, but La Tricolor has a better goal difference to capture third place and La Albiceleste has less goals made to temporarily settle at the fifth spot.

Los Cafeteros is coming off a close 1-0 win over middling squad Paraguay at the Estadio Defensores del Chaco in Asunción during the previous matchday on Oct. 6, as per Goal.

Seattle Sounders midfielder Nicolás Lodeiro broke the game's deadlock at the 29th minute off an assist from Barcelona striker Luis Suárez before Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani netted a brace at the 46th and 79th minutes to complete the team's three-goal haul.

It was a second consecutive lopsided win for head coach Óscar Tabárez's boys after they lost a tough 0-1 game to Argentina in Matchday 7.
