The much-awaited rematch between Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar could happen as early as six weeks from now at Survivor Series.
The buzz surrounding Goldberg's potential comeback after 12 years out of WWE ring has been floating around for quite some time now, but everything about it was just plain rumor until former WWE play-by-play commentator and talent relation boss Jim Ross noted that Goldberg is indeed returning to WWE.
Both Ross and F4WOnline's Dave Meltzer believe Goldberg will be pitted against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series on November 20th in Toronto, Canada.
H/T Wrestling Inc:
"WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross noted on Twitter that Goldberg returning to the company is "a done deal", and he will likely face Brock Lesnar at the Survivor Series on November 20th in Toronto. Dave Meltzer noted today at F4WOnline that a Lesnar vs. Goldberg match is "all but confirmed for WWE Survivor Series."
Goldberg's one last run into the WWE Hall of Fame
LordsofPain writer and wrestling analyst Steven Bell said during his post-match analysis of No Mercy that Goldberg's wrestling comeback might be just a six month show that would culminate to a spot at Wrestlemania 33 and an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Although Goldberg stressed that he can still perform at the top level at the age of 49, Bell doesn't think he can pull the trigger this time around. The wrestling pundit believes Goldberg might show a glimpse of his former dominant self here and there, but there's no way he would last the rigors of WWE wrestling all year round.
Goldberg, former WCW and WWE World Heavyweight title holder, last wrestled in the WWE squared circle against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 20 in 2004. He actually scored a clear win over the Beast Incarnate at that time, but their overhyped match unfortunately didn't live up to its billing with both talents leaving the company immediately.
