Eintracht Frankfurt is having a much better campaign so far this season than their performance last term when the team was almost relegated to the 2.Bundesliga after finishing the season in the bottom three.

Frankfurt won the relegation playoffs to stay in the German top flight and they made the most of their opportunity this term, winning three of their first six matches of the new season.

However, the Eagles were nipped by newly-promoted side Freiburg, 0-1, during their most recent match held on the road at the MAGE SOLAR Stadion on Oct. 1, as per Vavel.

Italian midfielder Vincenzo Grifo scored the lone goal of the match in the fourth minute. The two sides went scoreless throughout the match afterward, allowing the hosts to escape with the one-point victory.

It was the second consecutive winless game for head coach Niko Kovač's squad after they forced second-running team Hertha Berlin to a 2-2 draw in the previous round.

Meanwhile, reigning champions and current league leaders Bayern Munich snapped their five-game winning streak to open the new season by being held to a 1-1 tie with fourth-running squad Cologne at their home ground of Allianz Arena on Oct. 1, Daily Mail Online reported.

Bavarians defender Joshua Kimmich broke the game's deadlock in the 40th minute to give head coach Carlo Ancelotti's boys a 1-0 lead at the halftime break.

Cologne was able to level the count in the second half, though, with a right-footed shot from French forward Anthony Modeste.

It was the first winless game for the Reds this term and the team is expected to redeem themselves in this match against Frankfurt.

The predicted result is a 3-0 rout for Bayern Munich.
