Leganes was promoted from the Segunda division after placing second to Alaves last season. They started the Spanish top flight season quite well, going unbeaten in their first two matches, but had struggled since then.
They lost three out of four games before managing to nip Granada, 1-0, on the road at the Estadio Los Carmenes on Oct. 1 to earn their third win this term, ESPN reported.
After a goalless first half of play, Argentine winger Alexander Szymanowski netted the lone goal of the contest in the 76th minute to help head coach Asier Garitano's squad bounce back from their previous loss Valencia.
Los Pepineros is currently in the middle of the overall standings, at 11th place, tied on points with Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo but has the lowest goal difference among the three.
Meanwhile, Sevilla was also able to bounce back from their loss to Athletic Bilbao in round 6 to turn back a tough challenge from last season's Segunda Division champions Alaves, 2-1, at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán also on Oct. 1, as per BBC Sport.
French striker Wissam Ben Yedder netted a brace for head coach Jorge Sampaoli's team late in the match to help them overcome their hard-fighting visitors.
Ben Yedder scored his first one in the 74th minute to break the deadlock as the two sides went back-and-forth with their attacks.
Alaves was able to level the count 10 minutes later with a close-range left-footer from defender Víctor Laguardia following a corner kick.
The game looked headed to a draw, but Ben Yedder scored his second one at the stroke of full time, converting a pass from teammate Vitolo just outside the six-yard box.
