"Pokemon Sun and Moon" fans wearing Pikachu shaped sun visors celebrate the Pikachu Outbreak event hosted by the Pokemon Company.

Nintendo is on the run again of producing additional features for its upcoming game franchise, "Pokémon Sun and Moon," which includes a new version of Pokémon Global Link and the Hyper Training mode that allows trainers to continue powering up their ultimately strongest Pokémon.

The Global Link System, which is traditionally the medium of bringing Pokémon trainers online, will receive an update to include the new Friendly Competitions. Together with the current rendition of Link System being turned down for the 6th generation games, a ton of new features, including new Battle Rules, new rules for Championship Battles, and "Your Time" System for rating player battles, is expected to be introduced in the upcoming version.

The Battle Spot feature, the competitively-driven component of Pokémon battles, will be initially given an overhaul for "Pokemon Sun and Moon," including a new set of VGC rules for the 2017 season, Always Nintendo has learned.

Under VGC 2017 Double Battle Format, players will only be allowed the use of Pokémon caught in "Pokemon Sun and Moon," excluding selected Legendary and Mythical Pokémon such as Magearna, Solgaleo and Lunaala.

Through a new set of Championships Battle format, the mentioned three Pokémon and Ash-Greninja will not be allowed. Mega Evolutions will not be allowed either on any official season format, leaving the possibility that the new Z-Moves will be allowed.

Aside from that, "Your Time" option gets trainers more challenged through time-constrained matches in order to keep them speedy and exciting. The new mode gives players the leeway to limit the selection of moves or Pokémon switches to 60 seconds. Players will be awarded 10 minutes of "Your Time" under these rules, and if a player runs out of their 10 minutes, they lose the match.

Pokémon Global Link's upcoming update will also introduce QR Rental Teams, allowing players to publicly share their Pokémon team with other players.

According to Polygon, players will be able to register up to six teams' worth of their most used Pokémon to share with others. By scanning a QR code, another player can borrow an opponent's team to try on for size, affording them the rare opportunity to battle with another player's Pokémon.

Furthermore, the 'Hyper Training' to be included in the update will give trainers a chance to power up their level 100 Pokémon's stats for the first time through the aid of Alola Region teacher, Mr. Hyper.

Meanwhile, the "Pokémon Global Link System" website states that its service will end for the 6th generation games on Nov. 1 for game franchises that includes Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, spanning features including Ranked Battles and Game Sync.
