Hangar 13 is currently working on a new patch for "Mafia III" for consoles while a new 1.2GB patch is already available for PC users that addresses the framerate lock issue.

"Mafia III" has been launched several days ago but players are already complaining about numerous bugs and glitches that plague the game. Some are even comparing it to "No Man's Sky" because there are also numerous features from its predecessor that are now missing in the new game.

2K and Hangar 13 are aware of the problems and bug glitches in the game. They are already working on a fix and will update "Mafia III" customers through their Twitter page regarding the fixes, PlayStation Lifestyle has learned.

Players have observed several bugs and glitches such as render problems and suddenly flying cars all around. Some even report that their games suddenly crash to the desktop without any warning or error shown which makes it even harder to pinpoint which problem the players are referring to.

Some laud the game's brave take on the story regarding how racism was rampant back in the days and how Clay managed to overcome the obstacles. The new "Mafia III" patch now gives the player the option to unlock the framerate from 30 to 60 and without any cap, Tweaktown reported.

It also patches up the blurred rendering issue on some systems. However, it still does not solve the crashing issue and does not really improve the performance on low-end gaming rigs.

Players who already have the patch can go to the options and display settings to change the frame rate cap. They can choose between the default 30, 60 or unlimited which unlocks the cap altogether for those who have monitors more than 60Hz refresh rates.

"Mafia III" runs around 50 to 60 frames per second on 1440p powered by a GTX 1080 from NVIDIA. Some speculate that the new Hangar 13 patch could offer more improvements and actually help the framerate improve but that remains to be seen. There is no ETA on the "Mafia III" patch update but it could be expected soon.
